OK, no surprises here... the title gives it away.
I made a mistake that cost me a relationship, which would never have worked anyway, as I saw later, but I was absolutely devastated at the time. Naturally.
The feeling haunted me; I carried it with me for months and months. And then I just let it go, took some deep breaths and accepted it as my own, and moved on.
