A friend of mine spent an evening out in the Haight/Ashbury the other day. He walked through the maze of people and parking meters, around teens playing scrappy guitars under the blanket of San Francisco chill. He made his way through the smells of incense and spicy foods.
This place always makes me think of Paul Simon: “A man walks down the street, It's a street in a strange world…” My friend stopped into a shop and bought a little card for me:
“Rejoice! Many bad things are over forever,” it said, “And many good things haven’t even started yet.”
To me, this is the beauty of hope.

Megan's Backdrop What is this?
How was it?
Amazing actor (I have a crush on him...) Good story, but... I don't know. Not my favorite.
Why?
Life in general seems like a funny and strange creature with wavy little octopus arms and googly eyes. It rarely makes sense and is most often confusing. I feel awkward. It makes me laugh out of love, embarrassment, and joy.
Why?
After seeing their movie (Dad rented it from the library) when I was about 10 years old, I picked up a guitar and haven't put it down since... Seriously, It has the right side of the bed.
Why?
Beautiful story. Crazy author. Delicious language.
